Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for an opening in Goose Creek, SC.

o Supervise and sets daily schedules for Maintenance Technicians.
o Develops periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually) maintenance schedule for the Tanaka, Trumpf, Press Break, Plasma, Forklifts, Cranes, and other machinery that is assigned.
o Develops and maintains all maintenance records for all company equipment that may be inspected by any regulatory agency to include OSHA and DHEC.
o Maintains, cleans, lubricates, repairs and performs preventive maintenance to production machinery that include Laser, Plasma, Roll, Brakes, Waterjet, etc. to minimize downtime and scrap.
o Cleans up and ensures transportation equipment is ready for production.
o Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
o Maintains fixtures/equipment to minimize downtime.
o Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
o Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
o Maintains physical structure of fixtures and equipment.
o Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
o Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
o Examines form and texture of parts to detect defect.
o Repairs or replaces defective parts.
o Operates cutting torch to cut metal parts.
o Repairs or replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
o Maintains facility's utilities/support equipment: air, water, drain, steam, hydraulic, electric, etc.
o Installs/modifies fixture/equipment to improve productivity, safety and efficiency.
o Installs/modifies electrical apparatus and electronic components.
o Lays out, assembles, and installs pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
o Installs and programs automated machinery and equipment, robots and programmable controls.
o Ensures personal safety and the safety of team members; understand how machines work and how to operate them safely; knowledge of emergency stops; and utilization of personal protective equipment.
o Maintains clean work environment.
o Performs routine cleaning of equipment and general housekeeping at and around maintenance shop.
o Schedules outside vendors when required.
o Submits purchase requisitions and ordering of all shop supplies to the EHS Manager when required.
o Collects and handles solid and hazardous waste generated at the work site and deposits separately in designated containers.
o All other duties as assigned.

o Five years maintenance technician experience required.
o Three years of supervisory experience required.
o Ability to utilize hand-held tools/machinery/instruments, both manual and powered, both precision and non-precision. Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, painting, greasing, oiling, grinding, drilling, disassemble and reassemble simple machine parts.
o Ability to troubleshoot machine controls.
o Ability to follow maintenance procedures and maintain proper documentation, drawings and files.
o Knowledgeable in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic controls, materials and components. Ability to operate, set, and regulate/adjust machinery.
o Ability to troubleshoot machine controls, disassemble and assemble machine parts.
o Ability to install conduit, pipe, regulators, and hoses
o Knowledgeable in PLC and computer controls, relay ladder logic, and electronic controls preferred.
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs without assistance.
o Ability to take oral direction
o Ability to work in a team environment successfully
o Ability to read and speak English
o Ability to be on call on all shifts

Ability to travel out of state for training as needed

Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from meters, dials, calibrated scales, visual display units. Ability to receive and understand instructions via radio or phone. Ability to summarize verbal instructions.

Ability to accurately perform math calculations, with or without aid of a calculator; analyze and summarize written numerical information; use ruler, micrometer, calipers, and other physical measuring instruments; ability to read meters, dials, or calibrated scales.

Ability to follow instructions, in a logical order, given in oral, written, schedule or diagram form. Ability to observe, listen and determine if a situation is a health, safety, or danger hazard. Ability to observe operation/process/machine and identify faults and/or diagnose problems or unusual occurrences. Ability to ascertain job requirements from drawings/blueprints. Ability to analyze and/or scan written information for useful content; critically examine information for accuracy/quality. Ability to ask questions to establish information required. Ability to compile, collect, classify, categorize and/or catalogue materials/information.

Valid Driver Licenses
Forklift Certification
Crane Certification
