Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Support Coordinator for an opening in Carlsbad, CA.

The NGS Training Coordinator will be responsible to support the NGS Manufacturing department with daily training demands, coordinating schedules for training, participating in continuous improvement activities, developing training curriculum and executing on the site training strategy. The successful candidate demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a “can do” attitude. They must be approachable, transparent and have the ability to maintain a consistent level of energy and enthusiasm. The candidate must also be strategic, astute and forward thinking as well as have the ability to inspire, motivate and collaborate with others.

Coordinate scheduling and actions for training both new employees as well as cross training individuals within the manufacturing areas as part of the overall training strategy. Manage the training program and development activities of the area employees in a way that promotes achievement of KPI results. Solicit input from employees, supervisors, and managers regarding training and initiate appropriate actions. Liaisons with subject matter experts to identify best practices, enhance the effectiveness of business initiatives throughout the site as well as gathers and disseminates information, ideas, plans, and strategies. Work with SMEs to develop, coordinate and administer skill or competency assessments for employees. Ensure documentation of training complies with the Quality Management System. Assists subject matter experts (SMEs) in the design of training materials, programs and supports the business as needed. Design the training curriculum for NGS sub-group in SuccessFactor LMS. Build OJT (on the job training) process and documents for all of NGS manufacturing areas. Reviews high risk SHED entries and quality related issues and ensures relevant training content is developed and delivered to support preventive actions. Positively impacts the performance of the Manufacturing teams through gap analysis, risk assessments, recommendations for improvements and execution to prioritized training improvement plans. Participates in internal and external audits, responds to audit observations and identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions as necessary. Assist NGS department with assessing training needs based on demand and relative capacity to create visibility to department training matrices and planned cross-training activities. Facilitates tours, new hire orientation, and relevant classroom trainings. Manage projects from initiation to closure, develops project plans and milestones, secures appropriate resources and provides stakeholder updates on progress. Utilizes lean methodology and problem solving tools such as gemba walks, kaizens, and RCCMs to support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and employee wellness with a focus on training methodology, content, and delivery.

1+ years of experience in training and development. 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing environment preferred. Familiarity with curriculum design (i.e., e-Learning, Instructor Led Training, On the Job Training and virtual training.) required. Ability to make effective presentations and speak in front of groups of employees. Computer skills including Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook. Effectively communicate with all band levels of employees. Ability to work effectively and accurately with site based and remote employees. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize and be self-directed. Self-Motivated, creative, organized, professional, outgoing and expressive individual. Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective time management and prioritization skills. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to handle multiple tasks and react appropriately to changing priorities and impending deadlines. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and “on the job” training procedures.

Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Education, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related discipline.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
