Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Inspector for an opening in Goose Creek, SC.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Understand, comply and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
o Responsible for following housekeeping and 5-S initiatives in the quality department.
o Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning manufacturing quality problems.
o Shall have a practical knowledge of assembly and fabrication production processes.
o Demonstrable skills using various hand gages including, steel tapes, steel rulers, calipers, micrometers, etc.
o Understand English and Metric measurement schemes.
o Shall have the skills and knowledge to establish techniques; to interpret codes, standards, and specifications.
o Candidate should be knowledgeable with applicable industry standards specifications and procedures.
o Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and confers with management regarding part conformance.
o Selects products for evaluation at specific stages in the production process for a variety of qualities including dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
o Record test data.
o Evaluate data and writes inspection reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
o Shall be qualified to interpret codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
o Prefer experience with MS Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
o Working knowledge of assembly, metal fabrication, and construction techniques.
o 5 years of progressive project experience in assembly and/or steel fabrication.
o Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
o Communicate using proper verbal and written skills.

o U.S. citizenship or permanent resident.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions, information gathered from meters, dials or calibrated scales and visual display units. Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and operations to such tasks as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Candidate should have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.



EDUCATION:
o Shall have sufficient education, training, and experience to ensure understanding of the principles and procedures of inspection.
o College level work leading to an Associate Degree in a related discipline plus three (3) year related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or
o A four (4) year college graduation plus three (3) years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities preferred.

Full-Time

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
