Chipton-Ross is seeking a Product Service Engineer, NGS Instruments for an opening in South San Francisco, CA.

OBJECTIVE:
We are seeking strong candidates to support internal hardware within the Ion Torrent organization. This will involve working within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and molecular biologists and other scientists to support the R&D and product development efforts in RUO and IVD environments. This individual will be part of a larger team tasked with overall hardware support and maintenance at each of the Ion Torrent sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide service and maintenance for Ion Torrent instrumentation including debugging, troubleshooting and repairing faulty instrumentation within the CSD organization. Collaborate with development team and instrument users to identify issues and develop solutions. Develop strong understanding of new and existing Ion Torrent brand Next-Gen Sequencing products and their attributes. Provide in-house and on-site instrument and application support and training support to R&D teams developing new products. Solve instrument or performance issues through in-depth troubleshooting leveraging collaboration with development team and instrument users as needed. Track and quantitate failures and failure modes on internal instruments, including pulling necessary information from rest of the R&D team.

REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years experience in STEM field like engineering or biology. Impeccable technical skills, strong organizational, communication and team skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Extremely motivated and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, hard-working and multidisciplinary team. Committed and enthusiastic about Ion Torrent next generation sequencing programs. Resourceful and flexible. Adept at planning, prioritizing, multi-tasking, organizing and following through, while remaining highly energetic and focused. Straightforward, self-motivated, and trustworthy. Energetic and willing to work hands-on in developing and executing a variety of activities. Experience in biotechnology or medical device industries.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
Shift: M - F (8-5 or 9-6)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
