Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Design and Analysis Engineer 3 for an opening in Oklahoma City, OK.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines in the development, testing, and support of the C-17 platform.
o Responsible for operating the Avionics/Flight Controls simulation laboratories for the C-17 program.
o These laboratories are systems and software development and test facilities for actual and simulated LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) integration and test.
o Responsible for the configuration of the test facility, integration and test of aircraft/simulation software and hardware, and executing test procedures.
o Interfacing with design engineers will be vital, as is defining lab configurations which support requirements needed to test ongoing aircraft enhancements and modernization efforts.
o May actually have to "fly" the C-17 simulator for trouble shooting or for customer support in a test or maintenance environment.
o Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

This role will be responsible for day to day operation & physical configuration of avioncs lab, which includes real time flight simulator & avionics integration.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field of study
o Experience with aircraft Systems Integration such as avionics and flight controls
o Experience in testing flight critical systems via simulators and hardware-in-the-loop environment
o Experience in software testing systems (Avionics)

Will be expected to be able to lift 40lbs.

Seeking candidates with prior lab experience & configuration management skills. Fundamental Linux (Red Hat) skills with ability to navigate directories. Familiarity of bus architecture preferred. Additionally, ability to work in a team environment as this role is very hands on.

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with any of the following is desired:
o C-17 operations, and data systems
o Working with commercial communication standards such as 1553, RS422, and Ethernet

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT
Availability to work all shifts. OT may be required at times.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
6 months with possibility for extension or possibility to become a permanent employee. On-site 100% of time.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
