Chipton-Ross is seeking two Accounting Assistant 3's for an opportunity in Fairfax, VA.
Accounting Assistant 3 position based in Fairfax, Va. supporting Contract Accounting in the final billing group. Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government billing guidelines. Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Prepares unbilled analysis for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding analysis and other variance reports as requested by program. Independent unbilled analysis to advise program teams of potential risk. Candidate must be able to be able to submit timely requests for additional support from internal customers by staying aware of deadlines to the government.
Compiles and analyzes financial information of transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy in preparation of final invoicing. Candidate may assist in maintaining/housing legacy accounting systems to ensure integrity of legacy billing system. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field with some related experience. (An associates
and 2 years of related experience - OR - 4 years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree)
- Must have a strong understanding and ability with Microsoft Excel.
Desired Experience but required: Working in SAP
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
