Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tech Field Ops Mech Level 2 for an opening in WSMR, NM.

Primary responsibility is routine maintenance of tactical wheeled and track vehicles, which also includes repair, modification and test of these vehicles. The technician is also expected to promote a positive clientimage in all interactions. Selected candidate must maintain skills and proficiency in mechanical/fluid systems and in electrical/electronic systems through on-job-training and formal classroom training as required.

Demonstrated competency in the use of automotive diagnostic test equipment. Demonstrated aptitude in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment failures, including fault isolation. Experience working on and operating heavy machinery/equipment (military or commercial) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a PC and applications – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Desired Skills:
Experience handling explosives as part of weapon system development and testing. Experience at a major testing range such as China Lake, Redstone Arsenal, or White Sands is desired. Current Class A Commercial Drivers License.

4-5 years Mechanical assembly/repair - Ability to perform general mechanical assembly and disassembly, maintenance and repair.

0-3 years Electrical assembly/repair - Ability to perform general electrical assembly and disassembly, maintenance and repair

Accredited High School Diploma/GED

Certification or degree in automotive technology, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, from a college or learning organization. Western Tech College Certification from El Paso, TX (Diesel Mechanics)
