Chipton-Ross is seeking two Engineer Aeronautical 2's for an opportunity in Elkton, MD.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Works in a dynamic cross-functional team to meet schedule objectives and deliverables.
Creates system requirements and manages requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases under self-direction using established guidelines for a program.
Manages original and revised specification/interface definition documents for a program.
Creates, manages, and approves the requirements verification methods and database provided to the customer, to ensure, as the system design/build matures, that it satisfies each system requirement.
Provides data to and manages risk management (identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies) for a significant portion of a project.
Creates and manages System Representations under self-direction using established guidelines. This may include ICD development, functional architecture development, and/or physical architecture development.
Provide program management office and mission planning/operations support. This may include SoW development or CDRL support.
Leads, prepares and presents system engineering materials during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review and other formal program reviews.
Provides IPT leadership and primary interface to customer for System Engineering Activities.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience related to Systems Engineering or Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
· Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
· Ability and willingness to travel to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with suppliers.
· Experience with Risk Management Tools.
Experience using DOORS as a part of an integrated systems engineering process
SRR/PDR/CDR Design Review experience
· Systems engineering experience within the Development life cycle phase of a military product.
· Propulsion or aerospace product experience
School must be accredited.
9/80 work schedule. Fully remote. Preferred candidate is within driving distance of Elkton for ease of onboarding. Although even then they will most likely be working remote 95% of the time due to seating issues.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
