Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Engineer Software 2's for a contract opportunity in Morrisville, NC.
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to work as a member of an Agile team developing a high-visibility, mission critical component of a larger system. The new team members will be working with DevOps, containerization, deployment to and operation on Linux, API development, requirements development, and model-based systems engineering. The Python Developers will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. The ideal candidates will be responsible for working individually and as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. The team is seeking talented engineers who resolve software problems and utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. The successful candidates shall have experience with creating specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/ Government Off-the Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
This position may be performed at a Principal Systems Engineer level or Senior Principal Systems Engineer level depending on the qualifications, skills, and experience of the candidate.
Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experiences, a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience, a PhD with 0 years’ experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
Senior Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experiences, a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
This position requires past experience in Python Software Development.
Experienced in Python and/or C++ software development in a Linux environment
Knowledge of object oriented design
Experience with Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Certifications as a Certified AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), i.e. CSA-A or CSA-P, or equivalent
Experienced with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Experienced in Dockerizing Applications and Container Management (Docker and Kubernetes)
Experienced in developing and supporting multi-threaded applications
Knowledge of AWS Development/Deployment
Experience with debugging existing software and correcting defects.
Experience with developing simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
High school diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
9/80 work week.
