Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking Field Service Engineer III for a contract opportunity in Pearl River, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of Multi-Vendor (MVS) CAT II designation instrumentation with a focus on the following:
o Chromatography (Cytiva AKTA FPLC, Agilent & Waters HPLC, Waters UPLC)
o Liquid Handlers (Agilent BRAVO)
o Cell Counters (Beckman ViCell XR)
o Thermo Corona CAD
o Shimadzu UV-Vis
o Other areas of focus include but not limited to: Kuhner shakers, Millipore Air Samplers, Water Purification, back up support for onsite CAT I Engineers (incubators, centrifuge, plate washers, etc.)
o Must be client-focused, working in conjunction with other ULS teams and Sales.
o Must be proficient with the use of customer management software to track service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks.
o Reviews reports and documentation from customers and inspects malfunctioning product to determine nature and scope of problem.
o Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
o Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
o Analyzes Chemistry and instrument reports in the process of diagnosing technical or application problems.
o Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
o Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
o Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
o 5+ years hands-on experience as a Service Engineer is preferred, particularly working with analytical instrumentation in particular Chromatography.
o Hands-on experience with benchtop laboratory instrumentation systems
o Effective communication skills and establishing good customer rapport are essential
o Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
o Must be available to travel overnight up to 10% within the territory or other areas as required.
o Ability to safely lift 50 lbs with assistance on occasion.
o Ability to safely lift and carry 25-30 lbs continuously throughout the day.
o Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach on a daily basis in a service function.
o Ability to travel overnight at a minimum of 10%, after initial training period
o Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
o Regular and Reliable Attendance
o Position is expected to be onsite at the customer facility in Pearl River, NY 40 hours per week.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Sciences or related field preferred

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time; 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM - 5 days per week
(Some flexibility is available as needed)


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
