Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Technician for a contract opportunity in Stratford, CT.
This position is 100% onsite.
Submitted rates are depending on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Conduct Static Tests: conduct static tests on various materials to assess their properties such as strength, durability, and elasticity per approved static test request.
o Specimen Preparation: Collect and prepare samples from engineering and fabrication sources for testing. This includes fabrication and/or preparation of specified specimen to required testing sizes utilizing the wet saw and precision grinding machine.
o Operation of standard 12" shop wet saw for cutting composites.
o Operation and use of CNC precision grinder for dressing material specimens to exact tolerances.
o Set up and utilize data acquisition and control computer to run test, monitor and record the data collection for customer requested reports.
o Prepare and deliver data to customer required form and location.
o Maintain and confirm calibrated testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability. This includes but limited to scheduling required calibrations with third party supplier and internal metrology department as well as all handheld and attachable measurement tools, to ensure accuracy and reliability.
o Collaboration of customer representatives and Center Engineers, and technicians to include the Quality Assurance customers requiring support.
o Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and procedures during the testing process.
o This includes but not limited to proper utilization of machine safeguarding as well as initiation and conduct of any Job Safety Analysis for never performed or one-off non-standard testing.
o Support customers in research and process walks of testing in an effort for them to understand, investigate and or validate the impact of various conditions on different materials and test set ups.
o Setup and prepare specimens for specified time duration and conditions in environmental chambers per Condition Test request. Monitor and record required data per specified schedule confirmed by customer. Removal and delivery of specimen to required customer or testing apparatus at defined time and location per customer request.
o Conduct routine preventive maintenance of all test machines, environmental chambers, adapters, and hand tools associated with Static Test role in the EPC
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
We are looking for at least 4-5 years of experience.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
