Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test & Evaluation Lab Technician 3 for a contract opportunity in Berkeley, MO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Active Secret Clearance is required for this position.
Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel. The main responsibilities include fabricating and maintaining the instrumentation system, to include installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements. Sensor types primarily include Strain Gages and Accelerometers. Other types include Thermocouples, RTDs, Pressure Transducers, etc.
Processes require coordination with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers, ability to interpret engineering drawings, locating, surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, handling hazardous materials such as solvents and cleaners, adhesives, and sealants, wire fabrication, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, sealing. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring is required.
Accessibility may require working for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or supported by overhead support systems. Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes are required.
o Support activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
o Design systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
o Participate in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems.
o Support the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
o Facilitate systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
o Conduct routine tests, analyzes data and documents results.
o Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
o Work under general supervision.
o Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes.
o Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
ADDITIONAL:
There is potential to travel - nothing in the foreseeable future.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
