Chipton-Ross is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity in St. Paul, MN.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing maintenance tasks including supporting daily manufacturing operations and equipment and maintaining effective preventive maintenance plans. Performs and directs troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems and machine control issues and equipment performance improvement projects. Completes other general maintenance needs in the facility.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School Diploma is required (AA or Technical Degree is a plus)
o Minimum of 3 mechanical systems repair required (combination of experience plus education plus leadership will be considered)
o Familiarity with HVAC, heating, cooling, control systems is a plus
o Must be at least 18 years of age
o Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members
o Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words in English and drawings
o Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
o Excellent communication skills
o Clean room, Medical Device, Pharma, or Food / Beverage Manufacturing experience is preferred
o Ability to sit or stand for minimum of 8 hours, with breaks provided throughout the shift
o Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually. Lifts over 50 pounds require a team lift or other alternative
o Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, kneel, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance
o Requirement of 20/25 vision (with or without corrective lenses)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Responsible for maintaining plant equipment. Perform any general maintenance and document work.
o Perform preventive maintenance of critical plant equipment on a regular basis.
o Responsible for repairing building components, utility systems and mechanical and electrical equipment.
o Will provide a high level of troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of plant equipment and equipment components which include but are not limited to: autoclaves, freeze dryers, sealers, filling equipment, mixers, compressors; pumps, piping, and plumbing components.
o Must be familiar with plant SOPs and corporate specifications, critical Quality Systems and local GMP practices.
o Requires familiarity with GMP in a clean room setting.
o Must follow safety rules and ensure compliance with state and federal EPA regulation and laws.
o Attends required training and meetings.
o Assist in manufacturing projects / studies.
o Participate in lean manufacturing activities and initiatives, such as 5S, visual management, kaizens.
o Adhere to all safety protocols and wear proper safety gear at all times while on the manufacturing or warehouse floor
o Complete required training in a timely manner
o Maintain reliable attendance
o Perform other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
o May require work in a clean room environment wearing special garments and PPE (e.g. scrubs, hair bonnets, frocks, hoods, masks, gloves, safety glasses) based on the Class level for each Clean Room.
o This job also involves hazardous materials and hazardous waste responsibilities which include understanding and complying with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations for job duties such as: proper handling, storage, hazardous waste in-house treatment using neutralization and dilution systems, and labeling requirements for hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
o Overtime may be required at times
o Some job duties may be performed on a rotating basis
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma or GED
AA or Technical Degree is a plus
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, but candidates need to be flexible based on site needs. This means coming in early, staying late and possibly coming in on Saturday occasionally.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
