Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract opportunity in Archbald, PA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 2 years, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and with demonstrated ability to meet production time standards with minimal defects for low to mid complexity parts
o Knowledge of basic shop math (metric conversion and arithmetic)
o Experience as CNC operator in multiple machine cellular manufacturing operation
o Experience working/machining steel, aluminum and stainless steel with knowledge of machining speeds and feeds required
o Proficient in use of Measuring Equipment and able to verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications
o Knowledge of M & G code to be able to edit & trouble shoot CNC program at machine

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Follows instructions to machine, fabricate, or assemble parts to print and operation sheet specifications using conventional and CNC machines including lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers
o Pre-sets and installs proper cutting tools select proper speeds, feeds, and depth of cut where applicable to maintain the proper quantity and quality standards
o Inspects cutting tools for wear to ensure the quality of parts and makes adjustments during production run as required
o Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and follows written and/or verbal instructions
o Performs secondary operations during the machine cycle such as deburring and straightening
o Inspects parts as they are produced using standard gages, micrometers, indicators, vernier calipers, depth gages, and other measuring devices, to ensure conformity to specifications
o Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment and maintains coolant levels to ensure a steady supply of coolant/cutting fluids to the machine
o Receives and, when assigned, provides cross-training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures
o Recommends and executes changes to achieve process improvements and/or cycle time reductions
o Selects and loads proper CNC program in machine control to insure proper operation of the machine
o Verifies gages and inspection equipment required are correct and appropriate for the task

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience in set up and operation of CNC horizontal, vertical machining centers and lathes
o Experience pre-setting cutting tools and setting up fixtures in machines
o Proficient with editing CNC programs and using FANUC controls
o Experience working/machining steel, aluminum and stainless steel with knowledge of machining speeds and feeds required
o Proficient at GD&T
o Experience programming with GibbsCAM
o Experience with Solid Modeling
o Ability to perform complex calculations related to machining

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited HSD/GED

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 4/10 work schedule 2nd Shift




Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
