Chipton-Ross is seeking 12 Aviation Maintenance Technicians for a contract opportunity in Jacksonville, FL..
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience must be recent - within 1 year or will be rejected
o 6+ years of Aircraft Mechanic (Experience in either commercial or defense or relevant trade apprenticeship would be considered)
o 6+ years' experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications
o Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO and Component Operations organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs such as military commercial derivatives, fighter aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul. The candidates chosen will be responsible for adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance. Regular and predicted attendance is required. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
o Proficiency reading wire schematics and diagrams
o Perform bonding, resistance checks, and continuity checks
o Ability to locate correct wire routing on system installs
o Independently perform AC/DC power checks
o Ability to complete proper wire installation with applicable drawing, including: proper spacing, proper use of cable ties and lacing tape, bundle opening, connector removal and installation, and special cable care
o Ability to perform basic wiring termination (i.e., wire striping std ring terminals and stud build up, connector pins/sockets, splices/proper spacing, shield ferrule/sleeve (solder and crimp type), standard coaxial connectors, and shielded twisted pair splicing
o Ability to utilize electrical and measuring tools including: environmental crimpers, Daniels large and small crimpers, AMP crimper, Burndy crimper, megohmmeter, multimeter, strippers, push-pull scale, weigh scale, and bond meters
o Knowledge of how to properly install fiber optics, coaxial cable, quadrax, etc.
o Perform Air Data Testing using proper assistance
o Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on Avionic and Electrical systems
o Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the lead and manager
o Strive for an efficient work effort in all assigned tasks
o Strive for First Time Quality on all assigned work
o Follow the guidance and direction from lead, and senior Subject Matter Experts (SME)
o Execute all duties while wearing required safety equipment
o Complete required company and specific statement of work training requirements
o Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.
o Demonstrate a safe work ethic
o Perform detailed tool inventories daily
o Communicate using basic computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office as needed to complete essential job requirements
o Contribute positively to our open and honest reporting culture
o Report all incidents and occurrences in the client Safety Management System.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures
o Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within assigned work areas, "Clean as You Go"
o Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
o Be flexible to ensure aircraft are delivered on time to customer
o Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program or employee(s)
o Be an effective team member displaying appropriate behaviors including Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant is desirable
o Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standard workplace requirements to climb ladders, enter confined space, and ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED or 3+ years of industry or military experience.
WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; Candidates must be available to work both 1st and 2nd shift.
ADDITIONAL:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
