Chipton-Ross is seeking a Packaging Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Batesville, IN.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o As a packaging engineer on the team, you will be responsible for performing design analysis and engineering releases for small to medium projects or participate in portions of larger complex projects. The projects will primarily involve product and accessory packaging design and development but may also include labeling, documentation, or other more general product updates.
o Perform root cause analysis to investigate product damaged during shipping and develop corrective actions.
o Develop verification and validation plan for new packaging design
o Apply new technical tools and concepts as needed with support from other team members.
o Implement design changes for product and accessory packaging using our product release process.
o Generate feasibility assessment, product risk documentation, DFMEA, engineering requirements, and cost estimates.
o Support multiple projects simultaneously.
o Work in a team environment with daily contact with other engineers, technicians, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply management, and marketing personnel.
o Share technical knowledge with others on the team and guide other engineers in areas of expertise
o Challenge project teams and established work processes and proactively find creative methods to reach desired performance levels
o Inform others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Experience in the medical device industry and FDA Regulations
o Experience using International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) standards to evaluate packaging designs
o Experience designing product packaging for container shipping
o Experience using Solid Edge.
o Experience using root cause analysis tools (5-why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, and fault trees).
o Experience with documenting designs and analysis including hardware requirements, hardware detailed design, DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and testing requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in packaging science or combination of technical degree and at least 5 years of experience designing product packaging

Full-Time - 1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
