Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr. Principal Network Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in San Diego, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree.
o Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
o Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
o Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
o Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
o Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
o Ability to travel 10% of the time
o Must be a US Citizen
o CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Network Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. As a Sr. Principal Network Engineer you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Responsibilities:
o Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
o Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program's systems
o Implement engineering changes to the system as required
o Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
o Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
o Occasional travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
o A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
o Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE.
o Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
o Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
o Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
o Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
o Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
o Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC
o Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
o Proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
o Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 work week. 1st shift.
MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
