Chipton-Ross is seeking a Field Technician 3 for a contract opportunity in Pt Mugu, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
o Experience as an Aircraft Technician.
o Basic IT knowledge.
o Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last 5 years.
o Ability to travel (up to 10%).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a skilled Field Technician 3 to support our customer's EA-18G Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) at PT. Mugu, CA. This includes planning, evaluation, operation, repair, maintenance, upgrade and documentation of laboratory system hardware, software, operating systems and firmware in support of software and product development. Laboratory environments include software development laboratories, engineering benches, integration and test benches, workstations, system emulation laboratories, avionics emulations and simulations, and threat environment simulators.
The successful candidate will have a background in the operation and maintenance of RADAR, or Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, or commercial digital and RF equipment, or other electronics background, and will have experience testing, troubleshooting, and performing repairs with minimal supervision. Knowledge in the proper usage of RF/Digital test equipment such as a multi-meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and power meter is desired. This position will serve on-site at our customer's EA-18G Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) at PT. Mugu, CA.
Responsibilities:
o Planning, evaluating, operating, repairing, maintaining, upgrading and documenting laboratory system hardware, software, operating systems and firmware in support of software and product development.
o Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
o Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
o Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance
o Installs and upgrades products, ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
o Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
o May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Associates degree in a technical field and related experience.
o U.S. military electronic school in Electronic Warfare or RF Systems.
o Experience with RADAR, Electronic Warfare systems, RF Engineering, or other electronics background that includes experience testing, troubleshooting, and performing repairs.
o Experience as an EA-18G Aviation Electronics Technician.
o Experience with cable fabrication (RF, MILSPEC connectors, solder splices, etc).
o Experience with MIL-STD 1553.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. No overtime. No weekends. Lab hours are from 6am - 6pm so shifts would fall in that range. Potentially limited travel (around %10)

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
