Chipton-Ross is seeking an Emergency Comm Tech 1 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years' experience.
High sense of urgency is required for proper disposition of emergency services.
Expert ability to multitask and being an acute listener is a must.
Punctual with excellent work ethic, multitasking, and intermediate/proficient typing/computer skills.
Hiring manager will accept candidates without clearance, but candidate must be eligible to obtain active clearance upon hire.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direct supervision performs assigned tasks from detailed instructions, established policies and procedures. Protects the organization's physical assets by maintaining and safeguarding the physical perimeter, exterior, and interior perimeters of the facility. Provides security protection by utilizing and monitoring the organization's building automation system, electronic surveillance systems and other monitoring devices. Utilizes and maintains electronic surveillance and detection systems through security console operations to include; Security, Fire Access Control, HVAC, and executive support. Based on console indications or event(s), identifies, initiates and coordinates appropriate response/notification based on security guidelines. Provides first point of contact for situations involving off-site facilities, medical services, computer center, weekend media inquires, and consumer hotline. Enters and retrieves data utilizing the organization's security management system. Assists in the smooth operation of post and shift operations. Keeps accurate log of events and occurrences based on security guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Prior emergency services experience is preferred (Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency Dispatch).
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School diploma.
School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
5/40 workweek. This position is for 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) rolling schedule with 2 days off per week. Essential position which requires weekend and holiday coverage.
ADDITIONAL:
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
