Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Product Reliability Engineer for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Serve as the reliability engineering partner on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), translating customer and program requirements into validated, reliable product outcomes
o Define and manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables such as control plans, FMEA, and validation checkpoints
o Develop and maintain Process Control Plans and verification strategies for critical-to-quality features
o Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to validate key processes and ensure robust capability
o Lead identification and mitigation of design and process risks using structured tools such as FMEA
o Direct structured Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for systemic and customer-facing failures
o Conduct issue and nonconformance reviews, identify trends, and drive implementation of long-term corrective measures
o Continuously improve issue resolution workflows and scale reliability best practices as production volumes grow


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
o 3+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, reliability, validation/test, or quality engineering
o Demonstrated experience solving cross-disciplinary product or process issues using structured methodologies
o High attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation skills

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
o Familiarity with APQP, Process Control Plans, and PPAP
o Hands-on experience with FMEA, 8D, 5-Whys, Fault Tree, or similar tools
o Strong communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams
o Background in additive manufacturing, machining, or adhesive bonding
o Familiarity with automotive and/or aerospace environments
o Experience launching new products from concept to production
o Knowledge of risk assessment and metrics tracking via tools like Jira, SQL, or PowerBI
o Experience with CAD and PLM platforms such as NX or Teamcenter


REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering


WORK HOURS:
4/10 schedule
full-time onsite


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
