Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Software Engineer 2's for a contract opportunity in Manhattan Beach, CA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM degree with 5+ years software development experience, OR Master's Degree with 3+ years of software development experience, OR Ph.D. with 1+ years of software development experience.
o Strong proficiency in Object-Oriented software design and C# programming.
o Experience with lab instruments such as noise and signal generators; logic, spectrum, and network analyzers; and power sources and switches.
o Comfortable working in a fast-paced lab environment with rapid development.
o Active DoD Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
o Has prior or current corporate experience in a full-time role.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for a Software Engineer to support our Communications Systems Software (CSS) department. As a member of the CSS department, you'll work in a fast-paced team environment to make our technologies a reality.
The Software Engineer will develop test set software in C#. The role includes development of drivers, scripts, calibration routines, and GUIs for free space optical test sets as well as other similar test sets. The engineer will be working with a small team of optical SMEs, electronics hardware engineers, and additional software engineer(s) to build automated test sets for advanced optical communications and other similar applications.
The ideal candidate should have academic and work experience in software engineering and development across the full life cycle for automated test sets/test systems on aerospace programs. Experience working in a process-oriented environment utilizing waterfall, spiral, or agile processes is also desired. The selected candidate should also have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working on teams with talented engineers from other engineering disciplines. Must be comfortable working in a lab environment.

The organization is seeking a candidate who demonstrates long term vision and execution as well as system level understanding. The ideal candidate has corporate experience in a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
o Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
o Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software.
o Determine overall system and user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops utility programs.
o Ensure software standards are met.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience across the various life cycle phases including software systems architecture development, requirements definition and analysis, OO development, code and unit test, system integration and test.
o Experience with hardware validation and verification of optical, RF, digital or mixed signal devices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM degree is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time 9/80 workweek. This position will serve on-site at Manhattan Beach, CA.
