Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3's for a contract opportunity in Lake Charles, LA.

Per Diem only offered to those candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of the work location. $110 for lodging only and $51 for meals only.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o High School diploma or equivalent plus 10 years of industry-related experience.
o Able to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Looking for an Aircraft Structures Mechanic to perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures. Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Responsibilities for Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3: Include, but not limited to:
o Performs a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers
o Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
o Performs minor part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reaming
o Measures parts with precision tools such as, micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
o May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure
o May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
o Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
o Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
o Performs modifications and adjustments as necessary.
o Notifies lead personnel or supervision of any/all malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material, and product.
o Checks work for completeness and accuracy.
o Performs Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing, and inspection of assemblies, parts, and tooling for which the individual has been delegated production accountability.
o May be required to work in other fields incidental to, and in connection with completion of assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
o FAA-issued Airframe & Powerplant License.
o FAA Repair Station Familiarity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working overhead.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Candidates must be open to work any shift at the Lake Charles location, i.e. days, afternoons or nights. Some weekend hours.
Work schedule based on a 6-day -10 hour schedule.



Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
