Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 F/A-18 Seats Technicians (Navy AME) for a contract opportunity at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, LA.

*This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
• Aircraft maintenance
• Experience working with ejection systems
• Maintenance experience working on removal, install, inspection of aircraft systems/tools

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Technician maintains the following: Aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, Gaseous O2, fire extinguishing, air conditioning, cockpit heat, pressurization and ventilation
• Remove and install Oxygen system valves, gauges, converters and regulators.
• Remove, install, inspect and rig ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADS), shoulder harnesses and lap belts.
• Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
• Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities
• Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
• Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
• Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
• Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
• Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.

• Prioritizes quality, product and people safety

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
steal toe shoes, safety glasses, high vis. jacket, hard hat. Physical - ability to lift 35 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
