Chipton-Ross is seeking a F/A-18 Electrical Technician C for a contract opportunity in New Orleans, LA.

100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility in Kiln, Mississippi as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Ability to obtain security clearance is required for this position.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance.
Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client is searching for F/A-18 Electrical Technician.
Technician maintains the following: Aircraft avionics/electrical and associated equipment.
Remove and install avionics/electrical and related components and gear.
Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections.
Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities.
Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.

Day to Day:
Working on aircraft avionics and electrical systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Fighter Avionics/Electrical modification experience.
F/A-18 (AT/AE) Qualifications.
Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements, is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
PPE - steal toe shoes, safety glasses, high vis. jacket, hard hat. Physical - ability to lift 35 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

WORK HOURS: MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.
PER CLIENT: Candidates who do not have the flexibility to work all shifts or variable shifts should not apply for this opportunity.

ADDITIONAL:
Possible international travel to Kuwait. Nothing is planned and it is unlikely travel will be required but candidates need to be able to complete the travel if the need arises.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
