Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machine Department Foreman for a contract opening in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

REQUIREMENTS
"High School Diploma.

"Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Machine Shop Foreman (Machinist Foreman) oversees and coordinates all machinery department activities and provides leadership and direction to support more than 1,000 employees, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
"Direct and oversee new construction and repair projects.
"Train, mentor, and evaluate employees.
"Manage scheduling, timekeeping, and performance reviews.
"Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
"Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
"Coordinate purchasing of machinery parts and materials.
"Monitor progress, resolve issues, and manage budgets.
"Promote a professional and collaborative work environment.
Supervisory Scope
"Directly manage 10-20 employees.
"Hire, train, and develop staff.
"Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability.
Core Competencies
"Strong communication and leadership.
"Team building and collaboration.
"Process improvement and accountability.

DESIRED
"Shipyard or heavy manufacturing experience.
"3+ years management and/or machinery background.
"Journeyman or equivalent certification.
"Proficiency in Microsoft Office and time-tracking systems.
"Familiarity with ABS, USCG, NEC, IEEE 45 standards.

EDUCATION
HSGED

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
