Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Planning Analyst 4 for a contract opportunity in Newport News, VA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience. Master’s Degree and 8 years of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.
- PPE: Hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs.
- Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Supports and participates in negotiations with customer.
- Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources.
- Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters.
- Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within assigned utility system(s)
- Provide engineering resolutions for system problems/configuration changes
- Produce and/or oversee the development of technical documentation that govern the system design, configuration, and operation.
- Develop a long range strategic plan for improvements to assigned utility system(s)
- Participate in the development of planned maintenance requirements
- Support resolution of unplanned events
- Develop and maintain critical system metrics
- Participate in project design and implementation process for system related projects
- Oversee project/system testing to ensure system meets technical requirements and operates at peak performance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Mechanical Engineering degree with a Professional Engineering (PE) license, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) working towards PE registration, is preferred.
- Knowledge of ASME codes and experience with heavy industrial mechanical systems is preferred
- Shipyard/Nuclear facilities experience is desirable
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards is preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
5/40 workweek. First Shift 7:30AM-4:00 PM
