Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Designer 4's for a contract opportunity in Chandler, AZ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 2-year Technical Degree in Drafting or Engineering and 6 years directly related experience. o Must be experienced with geometric dimensioning and tolerating (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009. o Experience with Digital Product Definition Practices per ASME Y14.41. o Must be a U.S. Citizen and a DoD security clearance. o Must have knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations. o Must be experienced with Siemens NX and Teamcenter. o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. o Candidate must be comfortable working extended periods of time at a work station.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently looking for an experienced Designer 4 to join our Mechanical Engineering Design team within the Launch Vehicle Division at our Chandler, AZ facility. The Designer 4 will work within the Design/Drafting group and will be responsible for checking drawing/design packages for proper content and to ensure compliance with applicable industry and military standards.? Duties will include checking designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication. This includes review of tolerance analysis, hardware selection and fitment on assembly prints. The Designer 4 is a recognized expert in GD&T and will be called upon to resolve interpretation issues on drawings. Additional duties include verifying 3D models submitted to manufacturing utilizing Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter. Responsibility will further include liaison with various engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, and Quality.? Some vendor liaison will be required as well.
Additional responsibilities to include modeling fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter, and create/revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME modeling and drawing standards. Job Responsibilities:
o Review mechanical drawings with appropriate personnel verifying completed work, checking dimensions, materials and quantities to be used. o Mechanical modeling using NX managed with Teamcenter o Create/Revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards. o As requested, may supervise and direct the activities of staff. o Perform related duties as assigned or required. o Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, NX and Teamcenter as required. o Good communication skills, both written and verbal. o Ability to work quickly and accurately while under schedule pressure and exhibit a large degree of patience. o Strong time management and organizational skills.?PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Experienced with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1. AWS CWI certification Preferred. o Experience working with DoD programs preferred. o A working knowledge of ASME Y14. 100 and MIL-Standard 100 is also desired. o GDTP Professional Certification Preferred.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Technical Degree in Drafting or Engineering is required. School must be accredited.
HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 1st shift. On-site.ADDITIONAL:
