Chipton-Ross is seeking an RF Test and Power Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Baltimore, MD.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Basic Qualifications for the RF Test and Power Engineer:
o Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field plus 2 or more years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field. o Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams o Experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry o Experience with high power test equipment including oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator o Experience troubleshooting power components and power systems o Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level clearance o U.S. citizenship Basic Qualifications for the Principal RF Test and Power Engineer:
o Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field plus 5 or more years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field plus 3 or more years of relevant experience. o Experience in reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams o Experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry o Experience with high power test equipment including oscilloscope, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator o Experience troubleshooting power components and power systems o Current, active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level clearance o U.S. citizenshipPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking RF and digital knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about monitoring and supporting product technical performance and maintaining product delivery schedules. The RF Test and Power Engineer will support the development, integration, and testing of production hardware. Activities will range from hands-on testing and troubleshooting; to analysis of failure trends, root cause/ corrective actions; and attending program meetings to report yields, problems, and corrective actions. What You'll Get to Do:
o Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment o Troubleshoot and support RF and digital hardware o Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries o Analyze test data and identify early trends o Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements o Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions o Support technicians through troubleshooting and training o Monitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets o Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions o Attend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation finding, and corrective actions o Interface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management and program support teams o The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of RF theory and power concepts, and a working knowledge of digital circuit design. They will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate across teams. They should be self-directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools. A DoD Secret level security clearance is required for this position.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Advanced degree in Engineering (Power specific) or related STEM discipline o Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance o Experience with troubleshooting complicated circuitry at the system or component level o Experience with Lab Windows CVI, C / C++ programming o Test Stand programming o Proficiency with digital, analog, power, RF test equipment, RF theory and high-speed digital. o Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS o PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience o Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardwareREQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field is required. School must be accredited.WORK HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 1st shift.ADDITIONAL:
