o Active Secret Security Clearance is required for this position. o Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. (Electrical engineering preferred). o 3+ years of experience in engineering. o Anything with communication systems, FAA or military. o Troubleshooting and integrations. o RF experience (radio, comm systems, mil GPS, mil chat, link 16). o NetworkingPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client is seeking KC-46 Mission Systems Avionics Engineers to join the KC-46 team as equipment managers in Everett, WA or Tukwila, WA. This role will primarily be responsible for supporting engineering design, integration, test, certification, and hardware/software management for assigned mission systems avionics sub-systems.
The Client KC-46 Pegasus is the USAF's new aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Client 767-2C aircraft and modified per USAF specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft using either the Hose & Drogue systems or the Boom. The KC-46 is also equipped with a suite of self-defensive and tactical situational awareness systems that allows the aircraft to get closer to the fight when supporting combat missions.
o Support the engineering design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of the mission avionics systems to ensure seamless integration with software and higher-level systems and platforms. o Support the design, development, validation, and verification of system level requirements. o Assist in the development of test plans and procedures in support of certification activities. o Coordinate system-level integration for mission avionics hardware and software. o Support the definition and execution of critical tests of various types to validate the performance of designs against system requirements. o Provide technical management of relevant aspects of critical suppliers and Client software team members to ensure compliance with design requirements; support for products will encompass the entire lifecycle including proposal, development, production, and in-service support as well as flight and laboratory testing. o Gather information to support proposal development and conduct trade studies for future upgrades and new business opportunities. o Coordinate and ensure FAA, military certification, and Client airworthiness activities for the mission avionics systems and its components. o Coordinate and consult with specialty engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) such as safety, electromagnetic emissions, and cybersecurity. o Provide troubleshooting support for production labs and aircraft when technical issues occur. o Conduct technical issue investigations and Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCAs).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Experience with Software Development Processes. o Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering principles. o Experience with defensive systems. o Experience with data networks. o Experience with communication systems. o Experience with navigation systems. o Experience with flight management systems. o Experience with mission control systems. o Experience working with FAA and/or Military type certification requirements. o Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems. o Experience with Equipment Manager (EM) Responsibilities for Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). o Experience in hardware and software integration. o Experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). o Experience in Technical Subcontract Management working with suppliers. o Experience developing requirements and performing requirements decomposition. o Experience evaluating aircraft maintenance requirements, certifications or airworthiness directives.REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.WORK HOURS:
Full-Time/First Shift 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMADDITIONAL:
Domestic travel required. Tukwila primarily. OT/DOT: Yes, volunteerEmployment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
