Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technical Illustrator for a direct opportunity in Torrance, CA



Client is offering salary increases twice a year. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Must have 5-10+ years of experience
  • Strong drawing skills with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality artwork.
  • Ability to read blueprints and prepare preliminary parts lists.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and related design software.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk 3ds Max, or Maya.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to remain seated or stationary approximately 75% of the time.
  • Occasional movement throughout the office and production areas.
  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to effectively exchange information with staff and management.

  • Ability to read and implement safety manuals and procedures.


    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Client Technical Publications include Safety Alerts (SAs), Safety Notices (SNs), Service Letters (SLs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Pilot's Operating Handbooks (POHs), Maintenance Manuals (MMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), and Kit Instructions (KIs).
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and written instructions to develop accurate illustrations.
  • Create precise line drawings, vector graphics, and 3D representations of mechanical systems using Adobe Illustrator and related tools.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly visuals for a broad audience.
    • Incorporate labels, callouts, and explanatory text to ensure clarity and usability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical writers to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Deliver artwork for use in operations manuals, spare parts catalogs, maintenance instructions, training materials, and other technical publications across print and digital platforms.

    • REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Technical Illustration, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Commercial Art, Fine Arts (Illustration/Design), or a related field
